Gary retired from government service in 2010 as the Assistant Commissioner of the Bureau of Immigration, culminating a remarkable 35-year career dedicated to serving the country. Throughout his tenure in various government offices, Gary maintained an exemplary reputation, leaving behind an untarnished legacy.
His most extensive experience was with the Bureau of Immigration, where he served as the head of the Immigration Regulatory Division. This role demanded a comprehensive understanding of Immigration Laws, making it one of the most intricate and sensitive positions within the Bureau. Gary’s expertise in this domain enabled him to effectively represent the Bureau, alongside the Commissioner, in highly sensitive forums, national and international conferences on immigration matters, as well as the crucial ASEAN meeting of Immigration Director Generals (DGICM).
Even during his time as a law student, Gary demonstrated his commitment to the legal field. He worked as a legal assistant and researcher for then Congressman Frisco San Juan through the esteemed Simeon Ferrer Valte and Sangalang Law Offices, where he had the opportunity to refine his legal skills.
